Gwen and Wade Hall are joined on Nite Line this evening by two very special guests: Randall Franks and Ryan Anthony Stinson!
Randall Franks is best known for portraying Officer Randy Goode from the television adaptation of “In The Heat of the Night” on NBC and CBS from 1988 to 1993. In addition to his many film and television roles, Randall has been honored as a Bluegrass Legend by the International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro, Kentucky as well as been inducted into the Independent Country Music Hall of Fame. Not one to settle for any one path, Franks is also an award-winning journalist and columnist, with a syndicated column entitled “Southern Style” appearing in numerous publications as well as nine books to his name. He shares his spare time with several non-profit organizations such as the Lions, Kiwanis, and Exchange Club. Currently, he is president of the Share America Foundation, Incorporated, which provides the Pearl and Floyd Franks Scholarship to musicians dedicated to traditional Appalachian music.
It is in this capacity that he came to know Ryan Stinson – the scholarship winner of 2012. Ryan is an expert pianist who has played the piano since he was ten years old. He is a regular guest at the Country Tonite Theatre in the American Oldies show in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Stinson specializes in Country, Gospel, Oldies, and Appalachian music, and he has released three albums: Piano Premiere, Gospel Glory: A Collection of Piano Instrumentals, and Merry Christmas! Currently, he makes his home in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area.
Tune in tonight to hear them both share their journeys – how God has inspired, blessed, and led them – and also the music God has put inside each one of them!
